We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to provide critical operational and technical support to the U.S. Naval Station Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This position directly supports U.S. Pacific Fleet (CPF) N6 requirements for information exchange through networks, enabling effective command of forces. The Systems Engineer will assist CPF in assessing the current technological state of systems, conducting front-end and back-end systems engineering analyses to identify performance issues, vulnerabilities, and capability gaps. Furthermore, this role involves identifying and prototyping technical solutions to address existing issues, testing these solutions within an operationally relevant environment. This position requires a strong understanding of networking principles, experience with network analysis and troubleshooting, and the ability to develop and implement effective solutions within a complex network environment.

Tasks and Duties

The Systems Engineer will provide engineering and technical analysis to resolve issues related to requirements, hardware and software development, integration, and testing of systems, components, and subsystems for candidate solutions. This includes analyzing and troubleshooting complex technical problems across the full system lifecycle, from requirements definition to testing and integration. This role entails conducting in-depth analysis of system requirements to identify potential issues and ensure feasibility, as well as evaluating hardware and software designs to identify areas for improvement and ensure compatibility with existing systems.

Additionally, the Systems Engineer will develop and execute test plans to validate system performance and identify any defects or vulnerabilities, and support the integration of new systems, components, and subsystems into existing infrastructure. Documentation and communication of findings and recommendations to stakeholders, collaboration with other engineers and technical staff to ensure effective problem resolution, contribution to the development of engineering best practices and standards and staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in systems engineering are also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) architecture including the backend core services, VDI management infrastructure, VDI sessions, networking infrastructure, and thin clients.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues.
• Monitor active network and server infrastructure.
• Assist in coordinating planned network and system outages with all affected parties.
• Assist in performing root cause analysis for unplanned outages and reporting appropriately.
• Perform preventative maintenance on systems and equipment.
• Administer network security measures to prevent system interruptions or breaches.
• User account management.
• Provide expert knowledge and guidance on the system to interested parties with varying degrees of IT experience and knowledge.
• Provide local and remote user support as required and escalate requests when necessary.
• Produce and maintain engineering, testing, security documentation and artifacts necessary to meet and maintain government system Configuration Management and Information Assurance requirements.
• Support the development, delivery, and evaluation of training for operational end users, technical support staff, or other personnel.
• Make recommendations on improvements to training documentation, training requirements assessments, training briefs, and training systems.

Tasks and Duties

The Communications Engineer is responsible for the integration, operation, and maintenance of a variety of communications systems. This includes expertise in SATCOM (Satellite Communications), MILSATCOM (Military Satellite Communications), commercial transport systems, tactical radio systems, and network transport systems. The Cybersecurity Specialist plays a vital role in supporting DoD customers by managing cybersecurity procedures, conducting control evaluations, and performing network assessments.
